I Feel Like I'm Holding My Breath...

…which makes it very hard to blog. There's something about the 2WW that renders me speechless. It's as though there is nothing to say - I am simply waiting. Today is 2DPO/IUI and I am hanging on everyone's words of wisdom. Some people felt sick at 3DPO, others never did. Some got a positive result after 6DPO, some took almost 10. I'll just wait. And wait, and wait, and wait… in the meantime, I'll look up some videos on YouTube.

Stuff We've Enjoyed in the Last Three Years

June 2008
We get married! I have been off the pill for six months in anticipation of starting a new family.

February 2009
See local doctor about fertility issues. It can't really be this hard, can it?

March-June 2009
Try prometrium to lengthen luteal phase, undergo a super-fun hysterosalpinogram (forward-tilting uterus makes it interesting) and delightful endometrial biopsy (wouldn't reccomend it). Both come back normal.

December 2009
Make the move to a proper RE. Resist telling local doctor "You suck," to his face.

February 2010
IUI #1 / Clomid. BFN.

April 2010
IUI #2 / Clomid. BFN.

June 2010
IUI #3 / Clomid. BFN while on trip to England. You can't ruin my vacation, infertility! (But you sure put up a fight trying.)

August-September 2010
Try naturally. Take lots of herbs and spend an inordinate amount of money on suplements. BFN.

October 2010
IUI #4 / Follistim. Canceled due to hyperstimulation. (I grew more follicles than I have fingers. I don't want to be Octomom.)

November 2010
IUI #5 / Follistim / Crinone - BFN

December 2010
Natural cycle and trying...taking a little break from the doctor.

January 2011
Taking a little break, trying naturally.

February 2011
Taking a little break, trying naturally.

March 2011
Um, yeah. Still on a break.

April 2011
IVF Prep for June: blood tests, Fluid Contrast Ultrasound, Trial Embryo Transfer, and follice monitoring

May 2011
On BCPs and Lupron to start IVF procedure.

June 2011

July 2011
Our very first BFP!

October 2011
A 20-week ultrasound reveals: It's a boy!

March 2012
We have a healthy, happy baby boy! It is possible after all...and I'm so glad we didn't give up hope.
